Our story

Pukaki Air Lodge opened in October 2018. Your hosts Grant and Mary Murdoch are aviation enthusiasts. We had spent 20 years restoring our beautiful Nanchang CJ6. This is a Chinese military trainer built in 1966. The "chang" needed a new home and as we were about to move from Christchurch once our 3 children had left home, this presented an ideal opportunity to build a lifestyle hangar on Pukaki Airfield. This airfield without a doubt boasts the most stunning views in Twizel with ever-changing scenery.
